Reno, Nev. - Grand Sierra Resort celebrated the opening of its newest venue, Xtreme Sports Bar + Lounge with a record-breaking jump by nationally recognized motocross rider Ryan Capes. Capes broke the record by jumping 316 feet ramp to ramp, breaking his 17th world record minutes before sunset. In attendance were football star Charles Mann, Nevada Governor Jim Gibbons, Mayor Bob Cashell and professional skier Tim Jitloff among many other well-known professional snowboarders, wake boarders and extreme sports enthusiasts.
Xtreme creator and founder Richard Silverman along with Mayor Cashell, Mann and Capes, ceremoniously sawed through an Xtreme snowboard to officially commence the grand opening of Reno's hottest new sports bar.
Festivities continued into the evening with a rockin' and rollin' performance by Mini Kiss, the biggest, little Kiss Tribute band during an after-party in Xtreme Sports Bar + Lounge.
Xtreme is a next generation venue adorned with larger than life photos highlighting monumental sports moments within Nevada throughout the years. Key shots include the Prize Fight of the Century, original photos from the 1960 Squaw Valley Olympic Games, Reno Aces baseball and many other action photos from a variety of professional sports.
