Red Bull is awesome. Each time the energy drink giant sends a package to my office, I know it is going to be something cool. From chunks of foam out of their pit to one-off pieces of artwork, the contents of these packages are always a mystery, but usually tie into some huge upcoming Red Bull event or announcement. Check out the contents of the latest mystery box from our little bull friend…

Gasp!

Voilla! Much to my relief, no wild farm animals sprung out of this box. Upon opening it, I am met with a room-temp Red Bull can that is tied up in between a wooden box and some sort of woven burlap thingy. My curiosity is at a fever pitch. Safe from the threat of tightly-packed bovines but still cautious as to the contents, I dig deeper into the Red Bull mystery box of goodies….

Somewhere, Mat Rebeaud is searching for traction....

Well, if it isn’t two knobbies from 2008 red Bull X-Fighters Champion Mat Rebeaud’s Dunlop Tire! Also included in the small wooden box is an autographed photo of Rebeaud doing a sweet backflip superman Indian-air dealio. I sniff the tire. It smells like rubber and victory. Gently, I close the little box and dig into the next puzzling item….

Don't hurt me, Tuf!

Holy cowboy, a shred of Bull Riding Legend Tuff Hedeman’s Chaps! If I remember correctly, this insanely tough cowboy was a judge at last year’s event, and was responsible for keeping the rest of the judging panel “hydrated” during the event. This guy is an animal, and I’m astonished that he would cut a hole in his chaps just for me! I don’t dare smell the leather, though, but this is nevertheless really cool.

Burlap. That's just fun to say. Burrrrr-lap.

With the content of the two wooden boxes now revealed, I fix my attention on the small burlap bag in the other side of the box. Obviously hand sewn with gentle care, the pouch contains a DVD-R labeled “2008 ESPN Texas Show” and features a photo of some cowfolk watching a dirt bike launch into the air. Excitedly, I turn towards my computer to try out the disk.

The best coaster EVER! Oh, wait...

Much to my delight, the 2008 ESPN Texas Show disk works perfectly! Not only does this little DVD-R keep those annoying round spots from showing up on my desk when I drink Red Bull, but it also provides me with a cool picture below to look at each time I take a sip. Thank you, Red Bull!

Jays on Fire!

Finally, this certificate of authenticity shows me that this press kit was handcrafted in Austin, Texas by local artist Jay Gordon. In the upper-right hand corner, I see that out of 175 Red Bulls beverages, Gordon had consumed only 73 at the time that he made mine. Easy, cowboy! I’ll bet that by the time he hit the triple digits, Jay was completed one press kit every ten seconds!
