2008 Dirt Rider Product of the Year

It is Product of the Year time at the DR offices and we are working on determining what it will be. You'll see that in the December issue. But what we want to do this year is have a little influence from you, our reader, on what you feel is the POTY.

So, go to this thread in the forums and enlighten us. Try to follow the instructions and make it easy for us, maybe we'll come calling for a picture to put in print. And don't put it past us to send out some swag to a few lucky contributors.

2. The best product of 2008 is not a new product, but still the best for our sport. I am a hare scramble racer recently transplanted from Connecticut to Virginia (Rocks and 1st/2nd/3rd gear single track to sand and roots 3rd/4th/5th gear stuff). The best product is the Pro Moto Billet Endo tip. It makes your 250 four stroke legal for hare scrambles (<96db) with little to no loss in power and it really tones down the bark on a 450 four stroke with the optional silencer tip. For the least cost possible you can quiet your MX bike that we ALL ride offroad anyway(though illegal) and add a spark arrestor. This goes a long way toward public relations(having Trail Bossed races in the overcrowded Northeast under NETRA's series I can tell you firsthand) with neighbors. We will never "get there" on our noise pollution until we(as individual clubs hosting the race) enforce the rules (96db) rather than taking the entrants $40ish bucks and turning a blind eye to the guy with a YZ450F and Full Blown TI-4 Pro Circuit Exhaust that has never been repacked (108db). I should get a commission on Pro Moto Billet Endo's. Many guys in my club run them at my suggestion and are very happy with them.
